Congelats Palamós

Congelats Palamós is the Group’s mother company. It was founded in 1981 and its main activity was the distribution of frozen products to the shops in the region.

Today, Congelats Palamós confers a new sense to the term frozen goods. We invest in the elaboration of fully natural products, transforming, packing and freezing using innovative methods. We provide sanitary and traceability guaranties and we ensure that no additives or chemicals are used.

Since ancient times, the conservation of products has been a key element for the prosperity of the most advanced communities. One of the latest methods is temperature conservation, which has largely influenced gastronomic society for the last 50 years. Unfortunately, dishonesty and profit motives in the food industry have undermined the main element which is the product quality.

“Approach to a crystal clear and innovative idea”

Our idea is crystal clear and innovative: cooling the product to a low temperature within a very short period of time (blast chilling), where the basic principle lies in preventing the crystallization of water particles inside the fish flesh to avoid fibre rupture. This results in the fish having the same characteristics as fresh fish when it is defrozen.

Our objective is to provide value to the product, taking advantage of the seasonal cycle, creating a customised profile and making our clients feel they are in the hands of experts.
